Buenos Aires, Argentina - Lionel Messi scored a goal to lead Argentina to a 2-0 victory over Canada in the semi-finals of the Copa América on Tuesday night.
The goal was Messi's fourth of the tournament, and it helped Argentina advance to its third consecutive Copa América final. The defending champions will face either Uruguay or Colombia in the title match on Saturday in Rio de Janeiro.
Argentina took the lead in the 10th minute when Messi converted a penalty kick after Canada goalkeeper Milan Borjan was called for a foul in the box. Messi then doubled Argentina's lead in the 28th minute with a brilliant individual effort, dribbling past several Canadian defenders before firing a shot into the back of the net.
Canada had a few chances to get back into the game, but they were unable to find the back of the net. Argentina goalkeeper Emiliano MartÃnez made several key saves to preserve the clean sheet.
