At least one person was injured after Dollywood was hit by flash flooding

Strong thunderstorms brought flash flooding to Dolly Parton's Dollywood in east Tennessee

Dolly Parton's theme park was a bucket list item for Zoe Ballesteros.

But her visit to Dollywood on Sunday ended with her and her family wading through waist-deep water after heavy rains caused flash flooding at the park.

"It was like a river coming through the middle of the park," Ballesteros told CNN.

At least one person was injured in the flooding, according to Dollywood spokesperson Wes Ramey.

The park was evacuated and closed for the rest of the day.

The National Weather Service issued a flash flood warning for the area on Sunday afternoon.

The NWS said that up to 6 inches of rain fell in the area in a short amount of time.

The flooding caused significant damage to the park, including to rides and attractions.

Dollywood said it is working to assess the damage and reopen the park as soon as possible.

Ballesteros said she was disappointed that her family's day at Dollywood was cut short, but she is grateful that everyone is safe.

"It was a scary experience, but we're all okay," she said.
