No5 seed Rafael Nadal ended the title defence of top-seeded Novak Djokovic with a four-set quarter-final victory on Tuesday night at Roland-Garros. Nadal won 6-2, 4-6, 6-2, 7-6(4) in a match that lasted three hours and 12 minutes. Nadal improved to 29-3 in his career against Djokovic and 10-2 against the Serbian on clay.

The victory extends Nadal's record at Roland-Garros to 109-3 and brings him closer to a record-extending 14th title at the tournament. He will now face Alexander Zverev in the semifinals on Friday.
