Airline Adjusts Route Development Strategy

Flydubai Postpones Tallinn Flights Amid Boeing Delivery Delays

Airline Adjusts Route Development Strategy

Planned Baltic Expansion Affected

Flydubai, the Dubai-based budget carrier, has canceled its plans to launch direct flights between Tallinn, Estonia, and Dubai. The decision was made due to ongoing delays in the delivery of new Boeing 737 MAX aircraft.

The airline has been evaluating its route development strategy and has determined that it will not be able to operate the Tallinn route with the current aircraft availability. The carrier will continue to assess its route network and adjust frequency based on the delivery schedule of its new aircraft.

Flydubai has previously announced plans to expand its network in Europe, including the launch of flights to Basel, Switzerland, and several Baltic cities. However, the delays in aircraft deliveries have forced the airline to postpone these plans.

Flydubai is still expecting to take delivery of 12 Boeing 737 MAXs in 2024. Once these aircraft are available, the airline may reconsider its plans to launch flights to Tallinn.

The cancellation of the Tallinn flights is a setback for Estonia's aviation industry. The route was expected to boost tourism and business travel between the two countries.
