Rotterdam firefighters extinguish fire in Sligro Wholesaler's cold store

The fire broke out around 8:30 p.m. in a cold store containing frozen food. The fire service quickly arrived on the scene and extinguished the fire within an hour. The cold store was heavily damaged, but the rest of the building was spared. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
A spokesperson for the fire service said that the fire was under control quickly because of the quick response of the firefighters. "We were able to prevent the fire from spreading to other parts of the building," the spokesperson said. "There was a lot of smoke, but no one was injured."
The Sligro wholesaler is a large food wholesaler that supplies restaurants and other businesses in the Rotterdam area. The company said that the fire will not affect its operations.
